BMI vs. Pounds
Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on a person's height to weight ratio that applies to "average" adult men and women. The actual value is defined as a person's body mass divided by the square of their height--with the value universally being given in units of kg/m2.
BMI is only a guide and can be misleading. If you are carrying more muscle than the average person of your weight, your BMI will be higher and you may be deemed over weight, when you are actually not (the inverse is also true).
