Schwinn IC4 Spin bike
This Spin Bike has been nothing short of amazing. I live in a Condo and this bike is SILENT... that was one of my things I needed on my next spin bike and say no more this thing doesn't make a sound!! So if you need a nice quiet bike that ticks all the boxes this is it! The construction, Looks and design of this bike are very good I have been using it everyday since I bought it putting it to the test and its been great!
This could be a five star but...
It had been a while since I didn't anything for cardio health and needed the IC4 for that additional push to get back in shape. I love the bike but the water bottle holder and weight rack need to be reconsidered in the design of this bike. Even on my short frame of 5'1" I can hit water bottles when the face towards me. One simple fix is to reverse how it sits. This would mean the bike's computer would have to adjust as well. And addressing the bike's computer it's good but needs to show RPM/cadence better. Or place the weights behind the seat and extend the sliding bar the seat sits on and place a two water bottle holder on the frame where a person would step over to get onto the bike. So if the product marketing team and product development team are paying attention; please let existing users know when we can upgrade the unit and not the entire bike!!; aka sell it separately.
Move over Peloton!!!
This is an awesome bike!! It was easy to set up (I did it by myself; 57 y.o. female), silent operation (great for apartment dwellers), very well made, and exceptionally sturdy, the wheels and the somewhat compact design make it easy to store away, the electronics are user friendly. I ordered the comfort seat because I don't have much padding on my bum. I wear a chest strap and, the armband monitor that's included works very well. Being able to charge your phone while riding is an unexpected bonus! I love the SPD clips on the pedals with the option to use the basket! I cannot think of any negatives...really! The JRNY membership is a nice bonus. I open it on my phone and mirror the screen to my TV. No need for a tablet! If you do some research, you will find that most of the screens that come with spin bikes are not very good and don't last long. When I am doing the virtual journeys, you can actually feel the bumps in the road...crazy fun! The 3 lb dumbbells are another nice bonus! I honestly, couldn't be happier. Move over Peloton...here comes Schwinn! If you are on the fence, make the leap. You won't regret it! :) A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I would buy again, but do more research
I use this for spinning. I was worried about investing and not being disciplined enough to use it, but I am! I love the ease of having it at home and how quiet it is. I've spent enough time on a spin bike to know how to make adjustments so I didn't think much of it after the tech left from assembling, however, I had to take the water bottle cages off myself to adjust the handle bar stem. The levers(all of them) are too long to spin when the stem is all the way down, it bumps into the cages.
Excellent bike
This is a sturdy bike from a good brand- not flashy but practical. Bike was heavy but easy to set up. You know you are getting a valuable product.
