Keiser

For over four decades, Keiser has been transforming the way people of all ages and abilities exercise—enhancing performance and improving quality of life. But the story began even earlier, more than 45 years ago, when Dennis Keiser was hired to design the first variable resistance machines for a major fitness equipment manufacturer.

A year later, he launched "Commercial Design," an engineering consultancy focused on exercise equipment development. In 1976, Dennis was joined by his brother Randy, and together they founded Keiser Corporation the following year.

After securing several patents for weight stack and hydraulic resistance systems, Dennis pursued an entirely new approach—using compressed air (pneumatics) for variable resistance. In 1978, the Keiser brothers introduced the world’s first air-powered exercise machines designed to build strength and power—paving the way for a new era in fitness innovation.
