A good, solid exercycle
I like this bike alot. So why did I only give it 4 out of 5 stars? See below. There are many positives: Assembly instructions were clear (except for location of the serial number); it took me about 90 minutes to set it up. The machine is heavy-duty and stable (apparently the flywheel had a substantial upgrade from the prior model). It's easy to use. The electronics are basic but, hey, it's an exercise bike, not a lifestyle! The graphics take me back to computers of the 90s, but that's okay--the bike conveys all the information you need. There are several pre-programmed workouts that span the gamut from easy to I-can't-even-start-that. There is also the capability of creating your own custom program and saving it. You can set up different user accounts to store your data--handy if other family members will use it. Now the con: The heart rate monitor over-reads my heart rate by 20-30 beats per minute, particularly at high pulse rates. This is really a bummer because I am gearing my workouts to the CDC/WHO/AHA guidelines for vigorous physical activity which is based on sustaining your heart rate at a certain level for a certain time. This is true both of the (easy to use) handlebar sensors and the (not-so-easy to use) chest strap. I called the help line and the woman was very helpful, but couldn't help. She said the sensors have a tendency to "spike" when first recording, so I should peddle and hold the sensor for 2-3 minutes before believing the number. It didn't make a difference. So I live with it and do the mental math for my heart rate. So there you have it: a very solid bike with rudimentary but adequate display. It is easy to use and has a wide range of programs. The heart rate monitor is the only glitch. And the price is quite reasonable.
I would buy this product again. Like everything about it.
Seat is a little uncomfortable. I like everything else about it.
Disappointed
Not happy. Feels unstable. Very jerky when cycling out of the bike seat. Handlebars are a bit wobbly no matter how much I tighten them. Too much work to send back, unfortunately.
My wife and I are very pleased with our choice.
Used twice a day by me and my wife, monday thru friday

Try to maintain a daily routine. Starting at 15 minutes with a goal of 30 minutes by the first of the year. My Cardiologist and Primary care doctor are both excited that I got this bike. I can tell that it is going to take some getting used to but I am pushing myself to reach my goals.
